Therese Long

Director of Children's Ministries

Therese Long has been a member of Redeeming Love for six years. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Oral Roberts University in 1996 with a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Communication/Leadership, along with a minor in Pastoral Care/Counseling and Human Resource Development.  She worked as a Recruiter for the University for 3 years, travelling the nation with many different mega-churches and Christian youth organizations, speaking before and encouraging multiple thousands of youth to develop and find their purpose through Christian Higher Education. Therese traveled to 16 countries for various missionary works in Africa, Asia, Europe, Mexico, and South America.

She spent a total of 17 years in her career in higher education/publishing (1996-2013). In 2013, she felt a divine call and moved her family to Ixtapa, Mexico, where she and her son’s served full-time as a missionary, helping homeless communities and those living in the dumps for two years.

Upon returning to Michigan, she dedicated herself to building a real estate business for five years, allowing her to eventually return to ministry with the residual income it provided. However, after experiencing unexpected injuries in 2020, her focus shifted from foreign missions to sharing Christ in Bay City, Michigan.

In 2021, she started serving and helping eight children from the community get to church and grow spiritually. Through her efforts and other kids that learned about what she was doing, she has reached nearly 200 kids and teens from 2021 to 2025. Therese joined the church Executive Team in 2025, driven by her passion for drawing others closer to Christ, as well as her love for young people, prayer and evangelism.

As a devoted mother, she enjoys mentoring her God-loving twin boys, Kaden and Keller, who also serve at church and in the community. Therese loves hospitality (which is just a fancy way of saying she loves to throw parties!), the outdoors, hiking, fishing, drawing and painting, cooking, and encouraging others in their relationships with God.
